How to Search the Kitsap County Court Docket
Start with the court on your notice, citation, or pleading. Kitsap offers several public search layers. The Washington Courts Case Records Search covers municipal, district, superior, and appellate cases. Think index, not final court file. Kitsap Superior Court cases also appear in the Odyssey Portal. County District Court keeps its own ePortal. Municipal matters stay with the clerk in Bremerton, Bainbridge Island, Port Orchard, or Poulsbo. Not sure which court holds the case? Use the statewide search to identify it.
Have a full party name or an exact case number ready before you search. Name searches often return people with similar names. A case number gives the cleanest route. The statewide system itself warns about its own data. Some dockets, judgments, links, and status data may be incomplete or inaccurate. That warning matters when a new filing or a changed setting is important. Confirm any result with the court of record. Do not treat a portal screen as a certified file.
- Identify Superior, District, municipal, juvenile, appellate, federal, or tribal court.
- Open that court's portal and search by party name or exact case number.
- Match the court, parties, case type, and filing date before opening a result.
- Read the case events, Register of Actions, and hearing entries together.
- Ask the correct clerk for a current or certified copy when proof is needed.
Kitsap County Docket Portals by Court
No single screen holds every Kitsap County court docket. The statewide Case Records Search helps you locate a case across court levels. Odyssey supplies the Superior Court layer. Anonymous users can open case information there. Documents are different. Access depends on your role and authorization from the Kitsap County Clerk. District Court's county ePortal requires registration before any search or filing. Find My Court Date is a separate, real-time date tool for courts of limited jurisdiction.
| Search surface | Best use | Key limit |
|---|---|---|
| Case Records Search | Find the court, name, or case number statewide | Data can lag and links may be incomplete |
| Odyssey Portal | Superior Court case information and Register of Actions | Public document access varies by role |
| District Court ePortal | District case and calendar searches | An account is required |
| Find My Court Date | Current District and municipal settings | Not the route for Superior or appellate dates |
This Washington Odyssey Portal page lists Superior Court search choices.
The search tiles show why a user must pick case information or hearing information before entering terms. Kitsap's separate District Court ePortal clearly splits registration, login, and public search access.
This county system is only the District Court route.
What a Kitsap County Court Docket Shows
A docket is the running case index. It is not the full case file. Odyssey sorts Superior Court information into Case Information, Party, Disposition Events, Events, Hearings, and Register of Actions. A single entry can mark a document filed, an order entered, a hearing set, or a disposition recorded. The District ePortal runs case search by case number. Calendar searches there work by name, attorney, or officer. Exact labels vary by court, so read the court name and case type before relying on an event.
| Case Number | The court's unique identifier, entered with its punctuation, such as 24-2-01234-18. |
|---|---|
| Parties | Named participants and their role in the case. |
| Docket Entries / Filings | Filed documents, orders, minutes, and event dates listed in sequence. |
| Hearing Settings | The date, time, calendar, judicial officer, room, or remote details when published. |
| Court & Judge | The court of record and the judicial officer associated with an event. |
| Disposition | The recorded outcome of a charge, claim, motion, or case. |
Reading Kitsap County Docket Terms
Short labels let a dense docket fit on one screen. They do not always mean a case has ended. A continuance simply moves a setting to a new date. A disposition records an outcome for a case or an issue within it. A judgment is the court's formal decision. A minute entry records what occurred in court. Odyssey's Register of Actions is chronological. It lists filings and events in order.
- Event
- A filed, scheduled, or completed action recorded in the case.
- Hearing
- A court setting with a date, time, and calendar or courtroom.
- Disposition
- The result recorded for a charge, claim, motion, or whole case.
- Register of Actions
- The ordered list of case activity in Odyssey.
Open the event detail when the portal offers it. Compare it with the current daily calendar. A filing date is not always the hearing date, and a calendar label may name a session rather than the purpose of the whole case.
Which Kitsap County Courts Keep Dockets
Kitsap County Superior Court is the general-jurisdiction trial court. It handles felonies, larger civil matters, family law, probate and guardianship, juvenile matters, mental-health cases, and protection matters. Appeals from limited-jurisdiction courts land here too. Kitsap County District Court hears county misdemeanors and gross misdemeanors. It also takes traffic and non-traffic infractions, small claims, and civil matters within its limit. Four municipal courts handle city-limit offenses and infractions. A tribal court and the federal court system keep records of their own.
| Court | Docket Covers | Where to Search |
|---|---|---|
| Kitsap County Superior Court | Felony, civil, family, probate, juvenile, and appeals | Odyssey, statewide search, and County Clerk |
| Kitsap County District Court | Misdemeanor, infraction, small claims, and limited civil | District ePortal, statewide tools, and District Clerk |
| Four municipal courts | City misdemeanors, traffic, parking, and non-traffic infractions | Statewide tools and each municipal clerk |
Kitsap District Court ePortal Search
The Kitsap County District Court ePortal works as both a filing system and a public access route. Registration is required. Its case search expects a case number. Calendar Search by Name runs on an event date or range plus a last name. Calendar Search by Attorney or Officer pairs the date range with the selected attorney or officer. Each path answers a different question. Choose a calendar search when the case number is unknown but the person and likely hearing date are known.
The ePortal does not replace the clerk. District Court maintains its own limited-jurisdiction files. Its public counter and phone line remain the fallback when registration fails, a recent event is absent, or a copy is needed. Electronic filings must be PDF documents under the local e-filing process. A portal screen proves only what the system displays. The official case file controls.
Finding Kitsap County Court Dates and Settings
Superior Court publishes daily dockets kept by the County Clerk. A weekly calendar maps the recurring settings. Criminal, civil, family, probate, juvenile, and treatment calendars all show up there. Daily entries may list the time, judge, room, matter or calendar, counsel, and Zoom details. The court warns that a posted calendar can change. On hearing day, hallway postings and second-floor digital calendars may carry newer room information. So may updated remote assignments.
District Court publishes room-by-room schedules. Its ePortal handles date searches. Find My Court Date pulls from a live system. Staff use it for District and municipal settings. It does not cover Superior, juvenile, family, or appellate schedules the same way. Use the Kitsap County court calendar instructions to compare each date channel. It also helps you respond when a setting moves.
Kitsap Court Calendars Change by Room
Kitsap runs more than a single master schedule. Superior Court splits its work into named calendars. They cover criminal, civil, domestic, probate, juvenile, protection-order, ex parte, and therapeutic matters. District Court spreads its sessions across rooms 104, 105, 201, and 203. Those rooms cover criminal, civil, infractions, small claims, DUI and domestic-violence matters, warrants, THRIVE Court, and Behavioral Health Court. A calendar label tells you what kind of session it is. It will not list every filing sitting in the case behind it.
Check the docket again close to the hearing date. Resets replace earlier dates. A continuance never dismisses the case, and a closed preliminary entry does not end anything. Remote rules differ too. Some Kitsap calendars allow Zoom observation or participation. Others insist on in-person attendance. Make sure the case docket, the current calendar, and the court's own instructions all line up. Only then trust a room number or meeting link.
Public Access to Kitsap County Court Dockets
Court rules, not the Washington Public Records Act, control access to Washington case records. GR 31 builds the general public-access framework for court records. GR 22 restricts sensitive family, protection-order, guardianship, and therapeutic material. GR 31.1 addresses judicial administrative records instead of case filings. That split decides where a request belongs. Case files go to the clerk holding the case. Court administration records travel a separate request path in Kitsap County.
Key Rules:
Washington GR 31 balances public court-record access with privacy and safety limits.
Washington GR 22 restricts specified personal identifiers and sensitive family-related records.
RCW 13.50.050 controls access to juvenile offense records and official files.
Restricted Kitsap County Docket Material
A public case index does not open every document. Sealed records, confidential reports, protected personal identifiers, and parts of family or guardianship files can be withheld or redacted, and juvenile records sit under separate statutes governing official files and sealing. Odyssey also restricts documents by role. An anonymous user may view public case information yet lack the document access a registered attorney or authorized party enjoys.
When a document is missing, several explanations fit. It may be restricted, unavailable to that portal role, too new to post, held only in the clerk's file, or belong to a court level outside that system. Ask the clerk which access rule governs. Kitsap directs court-record requests back to the courts and clerks, so skip the county's general public-records office for a judicial case file.
The Kitsap County Clerk and Docket Records
The Kitsap County Clerk receives, processes, and preserves Superior Court documents. The office keeps hearing minutes and exhibits. It sells plain, certified, authenticated, or exemplified copies when available. District Court maintains its own file. Each municipal court keeps its city case records. Infrequent Superior Court users may land at Washington State Digital Archives for selected documents. Whatever route you take, give the exact case number. Include party names and the documents or hearing recording you need.

Kitsap Court Docket Copies and Fees
The County Clerk's copy instructions separate a docket lookup from an actual document purchase. Some Superior Court records can be ordered through Digital Archives by picking the record series, Kitsap County, and a case number entered with dashes. Before anything lands in the cart, the result shows whether an image exists. Route other requests through the Clerk. Check the live fee page, because a July 2026 change to electronic-storage charges appears there.
| Product | Research-listed charge | Route |
|---|---|---|
| Plain paper copy | $0.50 per page | County Clerk copy request |
| Certified copy | Copy charge plus certification fee shown by Clerk | Request from the record-holding clerk |
| Electronic storage delivery | $5 effective July 1, 2026 | Confirm on the current Clerk page |
| File viewing | Public files may be viewed in Room 202 | Superior Court Clerk counter |
Municipal courts set their own fees. One city's copy rate never applies to another court. Say whether you need a plain, certified, or exemplified copy, since each serves a different purpose and carries a different level of authentication.
Kitsap County Dockets Went Digital
Kitsap's current access routes came together in stages. In 2017 the county announced online District Court criminal records. Daily calendars arrived as a transparency milestone. Today's ePortal layers on registration, electronic filing, case-number search, and calendar tools. Superior Court lives in Washington's Odyssey system. The Clerk also leans on Digital Archives as a document-purchase route for infrequent users.
Legacy pages still surface in search results. The District Court's old eCourt page carries an "as is" warning. It admits possible errors, so start from the current court page to reach the live system. Remember that technology changes the screen, not custody. The Superior Court Clerk, District Court Clerk, and municipal clerks each stay responsible for their own records.
Kitsap County Specialty Court Dockets
Kitsap folds named problem-solving calendars into its wider docket system. Superior Court schedules Adult Drug Court, Veterans Court, Family Treatment Court, and Residential DOSA. Girls' Court, Safe Baby Court, and other juvenile treatment work also appear on its calendars. District Court runs THRIVE Court and Behavioral Health Court. A program name labels the session. It does not replace confirming the individual case setting. Check any access limits with the court.
The county's treatment courts page supplies the official program context. It stands apart from the daily docket listing a participant's scheduled court event.
Court Dockets by City in Kitsap County
Four incorporated cities sit in Kitsap, and each runs its own municipal court. Those courts hear city-limit misdemeanors, gross misdemeanors, and traffic and non-traffic infractions. Parking matters and related proceedings within their jurisdiction also land there. Statewide Case Records Search and Find My Court Date can help you locate a municipal case. They can also show a setting. The city clerk still supplies the complete current file. Population figures for each city come from Washington Office of Financial Management estimates for April 1, 2025.
